We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.

Good New Ministries was founded with the purpose to proclaim the Gospel to the disadvantaged people of the inner-city,

helping them to get back on their feet and achieve independent living with the reliance of God.

"For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’ “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and

invite you in, or needing clothes and clothed you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’ “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’

These verses from the book of Matthew are why we annually support great organizations like Good News Ministries and believe in what they do for so many men, women and children in our community.

The African Hospitality Institute, located in the bush of Central Uganda, is transforming lives one person at a time; breaking the bonds of poverty and dependency that hold people back from living a full and productive life that blesses others.

Its unique vocational training and relational discipleship programs impact unemployed Ugandan men and women. Its 10 room exclusive guesthouse provides a sanctuary of opportunities to Western Mission Teams and Humanitarian Volunteers with life changing experiences as they work alongside and share their lives with those trapped in extreme poverty.

In the summer of 2016, Shane and his family embarked on a journey of a lifetime; joining their friends at Zoë Cleaning Facilities, who had partnered with AHI earlier that year. It was there that he and his family fell in love with the beautiful country and the students and staff at AHI. They saw first hand how AHI is empowering and impacting the lives of its students.

"You can not witness God moving and then sit idly and do nothing at all," Shane shared upon his return from Uganda. He and his family returned to AHI in the summer of 2019 and left there again in awe of the success of the program.  It's an honor for us at Marksmen to be able to support AHI in their continued efforts to reach and change lives.
